Fieldnotes – Inspiration

Here you’ll see photographs I have taken—images drawn from the world around me—landscapes, gardens, abstract patterns—all references that have caught my eye.

Prints
Woodcuts and monoprints allow me to capture an impression of a place or a moment. I photograph to remember and to trigger fresh, even spontaneous, experiences in the studio.

Textiles
Woven textiles hold a distinct fascination for me — the warp and weft, the symbolism of their interconnectedness. But now I am exploring the color and patterns that emerge more spontaneously with sewing as I respond to these captured moments from my travels.

Drawing
Observing and remembering is my aim with drawing. These photographs record a place I have been drawing as well as my desire to find time to make drawings from what I have seen.
