Threads connect us to the body in a literal and abstract way.

After studying graphic design at CCA, my hands cried out for texture. So I shifted my emphasis to weaving and studied with Lia Cook. I wove myself a funeral coat as I worked on an exhibition of Hmong textiles for the JM Kohler Arts Center. I wove patterns from drawings of shadows. I wove non-functional wall pieces that referenced functional textiles. Then I gave my loom away and left it behind. Now I am drawing with thread using a sewing machine.
